How To: Prevent Bad Buys

Bad buys, everybody has them from time to time, and nobody likes them. It’s just a big waste of money. Back in the day I purchased lots of things that ended up being really bad products, but recently I hardly ever do that anymore. That’s because I found some ways to prevent them. If you’re interested in finding out how to prevent bad buys, make sure you keep on reading!

REVIEWS

My number one tip is to read reviews. Lot’s of reviews. Whenever you’re about to purchase something, whether it’s expensive or not, just look up some reviews online. Make sure you read reviews from people with different skin types, different preferences, etc. Also read reviews people post at webshops, those really help a lot. If 90% of the reviews are negative, you might want to rethink whether or not you want to buy it, and when it’s 90% positive, buying it might be a good choice.

However, don’t just look at whether someone is positive or not, make sure you also read what it does to your skin, what it looks like, how it applies and what the texture is like. Someone might like that texture, but maybe textures like that aren’t for you.

DON’T BUY IT STREIGHT AWAY

Another tip that really helps me out is to not buy it right when I see it, especially when it’s a relatively expensive product. Make sure you think about it for a day or maybe two. I do this because it keeps me from impulsively buying things. Sometimes I see something, I think it’s absolutely incredible and then I want to order it, but then the next day I’m not too sure about it and I don’t really want to buy it.

If this doesn’t work for you, make sure you find a way to really make sure whatever it is that you’re buying, it isn’t an impulse purchase.

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THIS ALREADY?

Also check with yourself if you actually like that type of product. Maybe you already own a makeup removal oil and maybe you really hate that. If you hate it, make sure you know why. Maybe you just really hate the way it feels on the skin. In that case it’s not a great idea to buy another one, because there is a very big chance you’ll hate the way that feels on your skin as well.

ASK YOUR FRIENDS

If you know any of your friends own the product you’re about to buy, ask them how they like it and if you’re really not sure ask if you can use it once. Your friends will give you an honest review of how they like the product, so it’s more trustworthy than the stuff you read online, and you’ll have a better idea of how likely it is that you’re going to like the product.

TEST IT

My last tip is to make sure you can try the product before you buy it. I know that’s not always possible, and if it isn’t, this tip is pretty much useless, but in all other cases, just make sure you give it a try first. And of course, if you liked the way it felt when you tested in stores then you should give that product a try. Just ask for a sample, it will save you a lot of money!

That was it for today! I hope my tips are helpful to some of you! Make sure to leave some of your tips in the comment section! 🙂

Have a nice day ❤

Love these tips! 💕 I am all about reading reviews of a product before purchasing it. I’ll read hundreds of them just to see if it’s really worth the money. (Expensive or not)
