Hey my loves!
I get really a tons of questions on how I make money on Instagram and how it actually works and how much money you can earn by it. So today I’ve decided to do a blog post about it and really explain you everything. 🙂
While you may not have a million-fan following yet, you can still earn some money on Instagram. Use these tips to make Instagram a source of income to complement your blogging passions.
Let’s get real for a minute. Yes, I make money on Instagram. Do I make money off of all of my Instagram posts? No way… that would be overkill and my feed would look like a giant advertisement. I also don’t endorse any products that I wouldn’t write about naturally. Accepting money and posting about something that I wouldn’t use myself is dishonest in my opinion.
- Decide on a theme and stick to it
Try and edit your photos the same way each time by using the same filter to create a theme and be consistent in the way your photos appear. That could be images of beauty or fashion posts or even crafts, it’s entirely up to you but try not to post random content. You may like bright and colourful images or you may prefer black and white or a bright image with white backgrounds – choose what works best for you.
Post any personal images on your personal Facebook profile or page instead to keep them separate if you really want to post the image but if you’re wanting to create a theme on your profile I would suggest sticking to it and not posting other images which don’t fit that theme.
- Be active
As with all social media platforms the more you put in the more you will get back. The same goes with Instagram. Being active doesn’t just mean posting new content, you need to interact with your followers. If you don’t engage with others then they’re less likely to interact with you. Of course if you receive hundreds of comments a day it will be impossible to sit down and reply to all of them but do try and reply to any questions. I try my best to answer every question although I do miss some if I didn’t see the notification in time before it disappears off my wall. Aim to post every day if possible, even if it’s just once a day but don’t post 10 times a day as that’s just off-putting!
- Let Brands Know What You’re About
You want to let brands know what type of content you specialize in and how to get in contact with you to be obvious to anyone who visits your page. Optimize your bio with keywords that reflect what your blogging expertise is (fashion, food, travel), and include an email address for business inquiries. Make sure the content you post is compliant with the brands you want to work with. A solid strategy is to tailor your Instagram feed to be focused on the types of products and messages that are compatible with your target brands.
- Find Brands to Work For/With
With companies like FameBit, you’re getting product samples or experiences in exchange for Instagramming about them to your followers. If there is a brand out there that you love and want to work with send them an email! It’s really that simple. They may turn you down, but it’s worth a shot. When it comes to reaching out to brands it’s all about the pitch. Make sure you know how you would incorporate the product into a post, what you would say about it, and why you love it so much. Don’t know their contact email? Send them a direct message on Instagram! You’re reaching out to them on the native platform you will be posting on so this is a great way to start the process.
IMPORTANT: don’t make your Instagram looking all nice just to make money! If you do, you will probably fail. It’s like deciding you want to be a doctor because you want to make money, but you actually hate blood. You have to love what you do and have passion for what you are writing about! And it takes a long time… you are going to get annoyed and frustrated if that’s the only reason you are doing it.
That was it for today! I really hope you enjoyed! If you have any other tips, feel free to leave them in the comments! 🙂
Have a nice day
